Freelance editing. Duties include fact checking, copyediting and

- American Forum for Global Education
(Jan 2002-July 2005) Editorial consultation to Andrew Smith, president
of this educational think tank. Duties included preparing marketing
materials such as brochures and strategy statements; and editing various
in- house written pieces, including op-eds and grant applications and
proposals.

1996-present) Editor. Duties at this Web-based travel magazine include
writing, editing, Web page construction and maintenance, posting.
- Magazine Retailer (Nov. 1995-Nov.
2001) Editor. Duties included strategic planning, budgeting, working
with the art director, photo and article assigning, editing,
copyediting, cover planning and shepherding the issue through
production.
- Ahead Publishing (June 1992 to Mar.
1994). I began here as managing editor of Events USA, a glossy consumer
travel publication. The magazine morphed into a newsletter. I then
became m.e. of the successor newsletter, The What's Ahead Report. It
alerted readers to "advance" information in such fields as travel,
technology, emerging businesses, real estate, health & fitness and
trends.
- Additional background includes SoHo
editorship at Wideband; consulting editorships with SoundWave and Home
Video; contributing editorships with Popular Photography, Camera Arts
and Modern HiFi & Music; and service as editor and associate editor at
Lopez Publications.
